Members of the public attending the 50th Jamhuri day celebrations at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu sat back to watch in wonder as the leaders invited to speak at the function complained that there were no VIP toilets put up for the guests.
The first to complain was Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o who accused Public Works of failing to pay attention to the comfort and wellbeing of the VIPs by not putting up a washroom for the VIPs.
He wondered why such amenities were only in place when the President is present at a function. Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga supported his sentiments.
