Tanzanian gospel singer Christina Shusho is under heavy fire from Kenyans for saying that Kenyan gospel music is more about entertainment than it is about glorifying God.

Speaking at an interview on KTN’s Tukuza show, the singer said that Kenyan gospel acts had taken up the entertainment trend and their music was aping more and more of the secular culture.

She said that Kenyan artists are more focused on producing hits rather than ‘food for the soul’.  She urged musicians to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Emmy Kosgei, Daddy Owen and Sarah K.

Some Kenyan fans echoed her sentiments but others retorted with hate speech even telling her to not exempt herself from the batch as she was part and parcel of it.

Do you agree with Shusho or was it wrong for her to say what she said?
