Makueni senate race has taken a new twist with Mutula Kilonzo's widow Nduku Kilinzo bowing out of the race in support of her step daughter Kethi Kilonzo.
Her move comes barely hours since Kethi announced through her twitter handle that she opted out of the race to pave way for her mother.
In her twitter message Tuesday, Kethi said it was a curse to race against one's mother and that she would not support Jubilee in honour of her father's party position.
It is still unclear if Kethi would reconsider her decision and get back in the race in the light of her stepmother’s decision to step aside.
Nduku had told a local press that she had jumped into the race after confirming with her step-daughter that she was not running.
In her latest decision Nduku said she was still mourning her husband and it was too early for her to enter active politics.
