Mutula Kilonzo’s Widow also joins Makueni Senatorial Race...Kethi Kilonzo Vs Step Mother...

Barely days after Kethi Kilonzo, the daughter of the late Mutula Kilonzo, joined the race for Makueni County, the late senators wife has also joined the now tricky race.

In a mass today, Nduku Kilonzo announced that she will be on the ballot during the by elections scheduled 22nd of July.
She announced that she is vying for the seat in Machakos after attending a memorial service for the late Machakos catholic bishop Urbanus Kioko which was also attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Her statements came as a shocker taking in cognisance that her widely known step daughter has already announced interest on same post.

There had been growing pressure on Kethi or her brother Mutula Kilonzo Junior to step in and replace their father who was elected on a Wiper Democratic Movement party ticket.

Kethi's announcement of her decision to contest in the July 22 by election was made in a broadcast ran by Kamba station Mbaitu FM in which she said she had joined the race for the sake of the people of Makueni.

Kethi grabbed the public limelight earlier this year during the presidential petition where she represented the African Centre for Open Governance (Africog).

Her flair of language, erudite arguments and demeanor piqued interest especially as she pitted her skills against some of the best known legal brains in the country—many of them her father's peers.

This will be a tough one...
