Kiambu Family Detained In India Over Hospital Bill

Kiambu Family Detained In India Over Hospital Bill

A family in Kiambu County is living in agony after two of its family members were detained in a hospital in India for failure to raise Ksh 2 million hospital bill.
The two - mother and daughter - were detained in a Indian hospital after the family was unable to raise the Kshs 2 million hospital bill.

According to close family members the hospital detained them after a successful kidney transplant a year ago.

The family, which hails from Thindigua vilage in Kiambu County, says the hospital is demanding Kshs 2 million  for the operation carried out.

The family also alleges that the hospital is demanding the money after it paid over Kshs 10 million.

The daughter, who was suffering from kidney failure, was operated in 2012 after an Indian family donated a kidney.
