A bishop nominated as a county executive member was yesterday questioned over his role in the last General Election campaigns and his credentials.
Bishop Joseph Methu was put to task to by the County Assembly vetting team to explain the role he played in the TNA campaigns in Nyandarua County.
He has been nominated to serve in the Communication and E-government docket.
He
defended his position saying he is a democrat, and campaigned for a
candidate of his choice. He said he had been elected by the TNA team to
serve as a chief strategist.
“I believe in democracy and that is
why I made it clear of my choice of candidate. I gave strategies to the
team since they had confidence in me,” said the chairman of Federation
of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Kenya.
He also defended his Doctorate certificates, which some residents had raised doubts on.
Bishop
Methu tabled original certificates from the Southern California
community Bible College and Seminary (USA) where he was trained.
He is the only one who holds a PhD among the team nominated by Nyandarua Governor Daniel Waithaka last week.
