A
group of righteous youth in Nyanza and Luhya western declared their support for
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s governance today.
The
group which goes by the name Friends of Uhuru in Nyanza and Western Kenya
(FUNWEK), has decided to put aside ethnical difference and instead foster on
cohesion and national development agenda.
Speaking
at the Serena hotel during their launch, the chairman Kevin Obiero, emphasized
the need shun ethnic and political difference.
‘’A
lot of people who voted for Raila Odinga think that Uhuru’s government will
sideline them in matters of development and job allocations, but that is not
the case. Uhuru Kenyatta is a president of all Kenyans regardless of their
tribes,’’ said Mr. Obiero.
The
society’s treasurer also encourage the youth from Nyanza to cooperate with the
current government to ensure prosperity in the region.
‘’President Uhuru Kenyatta has more concern
for the youths bearing in mind that he is a youthful leader and therefore he is
in a more suitable position to attend to your plea,’’ pointed out Mr. Zooku
Munuya, the society’s treasurer.
The
FUNWEK secretary Mr. Joseph Nanjira discouraged those propagating tribal hate
within social media stating that the way forward is through reconciliation and positive
ethnicity.
The
group’s main agenda is Fostering Unity, Cohesion and Reconciliation of all Kenyans,
Fostering Peace and Social Welfare and Creation of Wealth and Prosperity for our Youth
