We are not planning demonstration over over Supreme Court ruling- Atwoli Denies..

The Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) has denied claims that it plans to hold countrywide demonstrations to protest against the ruling by the Supreme Court that upheld the election of Uhuru Kenyatta.



In statement, Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli distanced the giant workers’ union against the claims terming them as misplaced.



“We have no issue whatsoever with the Supreme Court ruling or with the incoming and the outgoing governments,” Atwoli stated.



He said the union is a respected labour centre not only in Africa but globally and it would be demeaning for them to mobilise our members into demonstrating since the organization cherishes dialogue.



“As workers will be concern into knowing who will be the Cabinet Secretary for Labour whom our views to the government will be channeled through for subsequent action,” he stated.
