Talking about 'seatless'VIPs, former Housing
assistant minister Bishop Margaret Wanjiru was not one to let the
'gatecrashers' deny her the opportunity of witnessing the ceremony in comfort.
When she found that her seat had been taken by
some uninvited guest, she marshaled enough noise and caused a scene enough to
get the attention of the security personnel who quickly moved in to remove the
offending 'guests.
" Wanjiru and her entourage were able to
get their seats.
Kenya is a land of hustlers and some
enterprising Kenyan security personnel deployed to usher in guests at Tuesday's
inauguration ceremony took advantage of the situation.
They were charging those who did not have
invitation cards but wanted to seat at the VIP dias as little as Sh50 and even
more, to allow people to enter and take the seats reserved for VIPs.
Many are
those who came bearing invitation cards clearly indicating where they were to
seat who found themselves 'seatless' and had to stand for the duration of the
ceremony.
