UHURU KENYATTA to Win 51% against RAILA ODINGA’S 43% amid CLAIMS OF RIGGING

 IEBC will most likely announce Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of the March 4^th general election despite alleged massive rigging in Jubilee strongholds. The claims were made by CORD’s Kalonzo Musyoka at a press briefing on Thursday morning.

According to provisional results released by Jubilee Coalition Tallying Centre, Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta has garnered 50.57 percent of total votes cast while Raila Odinga comes second with 42.80 percent of the total votes cast.

A report leaked to the media indicates that Uhuru Kenyatta is leading with 4,955,861 which translates to 50.57% while Raila Odinga, who is CORD Presidential candidate managed 4,194,400 which translates to 42.80% of the total votes cast.

NB: These are not the results by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). This is according to the Jubilee Coalition tallying centre.

Meanwhile CORD has raised concerns over credibility of the elections, at a press conference, Vice President and CORD candidate’s running mate Kalonzo Musyoka pointed out four key issues that he said were of grave concern to CORD.

Here are the Issues of grave concern to CORD as raised at Press Conference today.
1.  The failure of the Electronic Voter Identification devices in over 80 per cent of the country.

2.  The law requires that voting results be transmitted electronically from Polling station to the National Tallying Centre before ferrying the actual results from the polling stations to protect them from being doctored.  There has been a total failure of the Electronic Vote Transmission system and we have evidence that the results we are receiving have actually been doctors.  In some cases, total votes cast exceed the number of registered voters. 

 For example Bureti, Kajiado South, Runyenjes, Wajir North and Kathiani among others.
3.  IEBC’s failure to address issues raised by Safaricom on the electronic voter tallying system.

4.  Refusal by IEBC to allow CORD agents to witness and verify the tallying at the Bomas of Kenya.  In fact they were literally kicked out.

Because of these concerns, CORD takes the position that the national vote tallying process lacks integrity and has to be stopped and restarted using primary documents from the polling stations.

IEBC has since maintained that elections is a legal process that cannot be stopped, this leaves CORD with the option of seeking redress in the Courts.
