The Return of The Moi Family... GIDEON MOI wins BARINGO SENATORIAL SEAT..See his Letter of Appreciation to the People of Baringo...
Dear people of Baringo....
First, I want to thank God for giving me this new chance
of serving my people...as we prepare to undertake our new structure of
government ushered in by the new constitution....I thank God for the joy of
being part of Kenya's date with destiny.
I also thank you, my people of Baringo; my dear voters
who trusted me with the amazing honor of being your first Senator. You've asked
me to be your voice, your agent of change and your example!
Please pray for me that I may live up to that task.
If you voted for me I say thank you! If you didn't
vote for me, I hope to earn your trust by the deeds I fulfill and the work I
deliver for you and all Baringoans.
I know by electing me you have expressed a deep
sense of gratitude and respect towards my father, H.E. former President Moi - a
deeply religious, simple and loving man! Who steered this nation through rough
times; but insisted always on - Love, Peace and Unity.
I personally thank you dad for being such a good
man and role model for me and many!
I also wish to thank in a special way my fellow
contenders - Kosgei and Ole Kateiya - you posed an important challenge to me,
you pushed me to work harder and this will turn out in benefit for Baringo!
Let's work together and make Baringo the best of the best - regardless of the
party that you are in. For those who have won various elective seats in Baringo
County from various parties - let's put siasa away...let's put the politics
aside and get to work for the county!
Lastly I wish to congratulate all those who have
been elected to various elective positions and more so, those who have been
elected on the KANU ticket. This is a clear indication that KANU is still
alive, strong and ready to be refreshed and reloaded!
To all my supporters, volunteers, secretariat
office staff, and all those who believe in my leadership - my wife, Zahra, my
children and entire family - I am grateful!
To all Kenyans as we await the final results of
this general election I urge you to remain calm, peaceful and patient!
