Tallying disrupted in KITALE as unsealed BALLOT BOXES are recovered.

Tallying in Kitale came to a standstill for several hours after police seized five ballot boxes without seals from Railways polling station in Kwanza constituency.

It is said that the boxes containing cast votes were seized at St Monica’s Girls Secondary School tallying center.

Ford Kenya governor candidate Patrick Khaemba and senate candidate Henry Ndiema noticed the irregularity and raised alarm. They complained over the incident accusing the IEBC official for rigging.

It is said that the presiding officers responsible for the six streams at the polling station went missing and police are hunting him down.

While confirming the incident, Deputy OCPD Duncan Nguthu said that police have launched an investigation and that those behind the issue must be arrested to explain why the boxes were not sealed. He called on both parties to solve the matter amicably and to continue with the counting process.
