Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary THUITA MWANGI ARRESTED For Corruption..


ForeignAffairs Permanent Secretary ThuitaMwangi has been arrested for allegedly engaging in corruption related crimes in the ministry.
Thuita, who was arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officers last evening, will be arraigned in court tomorrow to face four charges.

Vice chair of the commission Irene Keino said the PS will be charged together with two other officials from the ministry.

Keino noted that the commission has been carrying investigations into the irregular acquisition of the Kenyan embassy in Tokyo at an exorbitant price.

Speaking at her office at Integrity House in Nairobi, Keino said that investigations were completed early this month and the file sent to Director of Public Prosecutions for review of the evidence and recommendations to charge the suspects.

She further noted that the three will charged for abuse of office, willful failure to comply with the law and applicable procedures relating to procurement, conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption and false assumption of authority.

“The Director of Public Prosecutions after analysing the evidence concurred with the commission’s recommendations and the three suspects will be charged in court,” she stated.
