What Mama IDA ODINGA had ordered in State House if RAILA became President...

Two weeks before the March 4th general election, a familiar face visited the Office of the President at Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, requesting a talk with State House comptroller Zachary Muburi Thuita.

After a small wait at the reception of the heavily guarded office, Reece officers who were guarding the place realised that the woman whom they didn’t recognize was the wife of Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Mama Ida Odinga. Mama Ida was waiting for State House comptroller Maburi Thuita!

After requesting the details of the conversations between Mama Ida and Muburi Thuita, one of the security officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Mama Ida came to give instructions on what she wanted State House to be like when Prime Minister Raila Odinga assumes the Presidency.

Ida said she wanted brand new furniture for all the rooms in State House. She said she had ordered a few from France and Slovakia.

On issue of bedrooms, Mama Ida said she wanted a change of all mattress and bed sheets in all rooms, so that she can get rid of former Presidents’ ghosts. She said she had ordered bedroom accessories from China and US.

The officer also said the PM’s wife also ordered all kitchen accessories to be auctioned after President Kibaki’s exit, to get rid of cockroaches which she said had invaded State House since 2003.

Finally, she said she wanted all State House staff to wear uniform so that she can be able to recognise them when she assumes the role of a First Lady!
