Major blow for TNA’s WAITITU as SONKO and SHEBESH dump him for campaigning for MARGARET WANJIRU

The party associated with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, The National Alliance (TNA), received a major  blow on Tuesday, after two lieutenants Gideon Mbuvi Sonko and Rachel Shebesh threw their weight behind  billionaire Jimnah Mbaru.

Sonko and Shebesh declared they will support Mbaru, who is vying for the Governor Seat on Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) ticket following a fall-out with TNA candidate Ferdinand Waititu.

Credible sources indicate that the two met with Mbaru in a Nairobi Hotel on Tuesday to strike a deal on how to campaign as a team.

The two who are Uhuru’s confidants hinted that they had disagreed between themselves after reports emerged that Waititu was allegedly supporting rivals of Sonko for the senate seat.

When contacted on Wednesday, Sonko said there was nothing wrong in working with Mbaru.

“There is nothing wrong if I work with Mbaru. After all we also received reports that Waititu has been secretly campaigning for my rival Margret Wanjiru,” Sonko said.

This is a major boost for ODM’s strongman Evans Kidero, who will now be able to clinch the Nairobi Governor seat without much resistance on March 4th.
